The use of model constructs to design collaborative health information technologies: A case study to support child development

•Current literature does not guide the design of systems to support collaboration.•Models from the literature could be useful in the design of information technology.•We used constructs from the Collaboration Space Model to analyze interview data.•Using model constructs and empirical data provided insights into collaborative work.•Future work is needed to translate results into designs and test designs with users.
