Variation sparse source imaging based on conditional mean for electromagnetic extended sources.

•A Bayesian framework is proposed to enforce sparseness of sources in the transform domains.•Bayesian inference is employed to compute the mean and covariance of sources, instead of the MAP.•A fully data driven and double-loop algorithm is derived to complete the Bayesian inference.
