On developing an automatic threshold applied to feature selection ensembles.

•Over the last years, the size of datasets has been constantly growing.•Feature selection has become an essential preprocessing step.•We apply two different designs of ensemble learning on the feature selection process.•We analyzed the use of thresholds by considering two different approaches.•We successfully tested our approaches dealing with different types of datasets and obtaining encouraging result.
