High density μLED array for retinal prothesis with a eye-tracking system.

摘要
Optogenetics, a gene therapy technique for photosensitizing nerve tissue, is rapidly moving from the scientific domain towards clinical practice. The first human application of this technology has been in retinal prosthesis, with a headset illuminating a newly photosensitized layer in a dysfunctional retinae. This research paper explores a new type of high radiance optical stimulation array which can sense the position of the eye and thus compensate for eye movement. The array, compatible with optoelectronic retinal prosthesis headsets is designed on AMS 0.35μm CMOS technology which can drive our previously described 90×90 CMOS-Gallium Nitride micro-LED arrays
