Intelligent mapping between GPU and cluster computing for discovering big association rules.

•Four parallel approaches for solving ARM problem are proposed.•The suggested approaches combine both GPU and cluster computing to improve a Bees Swarm Optimization (BSO) metaheuristic.•The results show clear improvement compared to state-of-the-art HPC-based ARM algorithms in terms of the runtime process. Moreover, the approaches deal with big transactional database.
