摘要
This paper discusses a base station selection scheme for handover in a mobility-aware ultra-dense small cell urban vehicular environment. The scheme follows a three step sequence to select future base station (eNB) depending on k-nearest neighbor value (k-value) and azimuth angle. Considering vehicle mobility and severe cross interference in the ultra-dense topology, selection of eNB is an essential factor which affects both latency and data rates. The underlying motivation is to strike a balance between handover frequency and system performance with QoS guarantee. Analyzing the proposed scheme, we found that a unique pattern is associated with every k-value. Pattern recognition scheme will be exploited to implement the proposed scheme in a more complex topology. The simulation results demonstrate a system level performance comparison drawn among different handover approaches using the proposed scheme in order to understand the influence of eNB selection on the quality of service (QoS) at different vehicle speed.
