摘要

•A new problem called Scheduling Resource-Constrained Project Problem with Alternative Activity Chains is proposed.•An AND-OR network representation is designed for the problem.•A mixed-integer linear program is developed for formulating the problem.•A new metaheuristic based on the simulated annealing (SA) is developed for solving large scale problems.•Results of numerical experiments demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed SA algorithm.
