摘要

•Point CH4 flux values for UP wetlands are up-scaled using MODIS data.•Role of remotely sensed Ft in CH4 emissions from wetlands is elaborated.•Annual mean Ft values for UP wetlands vary from 0.69 to 0.71.•UP wetlands contribute to 3.2–4.2% of the total India’s inland water CH4 emissions.•This study will improve regional/global CH4 emission budgets.
