•Korean men with prostate cancer receiving androgen deprivation therapy revealed low HRQOL levels.•Depression, fatigue, and comorbidity were significantly associated with worse HRQOL.•To improve these patients' HRQOL, depression and fatigue should be targeted and comorbidity managed.
