Design and evaluation of an alternative programming paradigms course.

•Programming paradigms course using one single programming language.•Object-orientation, functional, concurrent, parallel and meta-programming.•C# was used because its multi-paradigm approach and similarity with Java.•Strong influence on the achievement of all the learning outcomes.•The students’ satisfaction was higher than for the rest of courses.
