Anti epileptic drug trials for patients with drug resistant idiopathic generalised epilepsy: A meta-analysis.

•Reviewed 921 participants with drug resistant idiopathic generalised epilepsy (IGE).•More patients in the drug treatment groups achieved ≥50% reduction in seizures.•A significant statistical difference of seizure freedom in the drug treatment group.•Adverse events of all drug trials are consistent with other studies of these drugs.•Methodological issues are recognised and therefore it is not free of bias.
