•Infection-related mortality (IRM) is a major challenge after allo-HSCT.•Only pretransplantation variables are challenged in the score.•Age, cytomegalovirus serostatus, and pretransplantation levels of IgA/IgM predict IRM.•This clinicobiological score also predicts overall survival after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.•Pretransplantation IgA/IgM levels can be modulated by immunoglobulins administration.
