Noninvasive blood potassium measurement using signal-processed, single-lead ecg acquired from a handheld smartphone.

•Remote, noninvasive potassium monitoring may help manage patients with end stage renal disease.•In this study, patients held a smartphone with electrodes attached to acquire an ECG signal.•The ECG signal was sent to a secure server for processing.•The processed signal was used to accurately determine blood potassium levels.
