A GIS-based Logic Scoring of Preference method for evaluation of land capability and suitability for agriculture

•The Logic Scoring of Preference (LSP) has been used as new GIS-based MCE decision making method.•The LSP-MCE method is based on soft computing and covers wide range of human decision logic.•The LSP-MCE method is applied for the analysis of agricultural land capability and suitability.•Three scenarios are developed as possible outcomes of the agricultural suitability analysis.•Results indicate that the LPS method can be used as tool for land-use planning and decision-making.
