The article discusses the effectiveness of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmentu0027s (HUD) Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) planning scheme in the promotion of community health investment and improved access to healthier communities. The scheme examines the extent of racial and economic segregation in the community and region. Also cited are the challenges faced by people living in high-poverty neighborhood like exposure to environmental risks.
