摘要

•Development of a SYBR Green I based quantitative RT-PCR assay for emerging RRV.•Oral infection of Ae. aegypti with RRV revealed 100% infection and dissemination rate.•A transmission rate of 75% was observed in Ae. aegypti.•Assay was validated by screening potential antivirals against RRV.•qRT-PCR can be a remarkable tool for virus surveillance and antiviral screening.
