Potentials of transboundary thermal water resources in the western part of the Pannonian basin

•Thermal water is produced by 307 geothermal objects at 149 user sites.•Annual production of thermal water sums to approximately 38.5 million m3.•Legislative potential is estimated to be approximately 58.8 million m3 per year.•Potential of 96 inactive wells is 4.7 million m3 of thermal water per year.•Geothermal development is possible without major investments in new production wells.
