Oral oxycodone for pain after caesarean section: A randomized comparison with nurse-administered IV morphine in a pragmatic study

•Oral OXY – better post-caesarean section pain control vs. nurse-administered i.v. morphine/oral codeine.•Oral OXY – less opioid consumption with oxycodone vs. i.v. morphine/oral codeine.•Oral OXY – less time consuming than giving i.v. morphine during the first 24h.•Both treatment protocols are safe for both the mother and the newborn.
