Regionalization of subsurface stormflow parameters of hydrologic models: Derivation from regional analysis of streamflow recession curves

•Storage–discharge relations are derived from observed streamflow recession curves.•These relations are parameterized in terms of climate and landscape properties.•Climate aridity was found to to be a key predictor of storage–discharge relations.
