Some New Diorganoantimony(Iii) Derivatives of Methyl 4-(4-Substituted Phenyl)-2-Oxy-4-Oxo-2-Butenoates

Diorganoantimony(III) derivatives of methyl 4-(4-substituted phenyl)-2-oxy-4-oxo-2-butenoates of the type Ph4Sb[OC(COOCH3)=CHCOC6H4-X-p] (where X = H, Ci, Br, and CH3) have been synthesised by the reaction of Ph2SbCl with the ammonium salt of the above substituted ligands in benzene solution. These newly synthesised derivatives have been characterised on the basis of elemental analyses, molecular weight measurements and their plausible structures have been proposed on the basis of spectral studies.
