Experimental study of Ebola hemorrhagic fever in Papio hamadryas

The course of disease caused by Ebola virus inPapio hamadryas is studied by clinical and biochemical methods. The severity and outcome of the disease are found to be unrelated to the degree of viremia. The development of deep lesions in the liver and kidneys in the course of the disease, as well as of a disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome with an abnormally prolonged hypercoagulation stage is demonstrated.
