Seed and blanket thorium-reprocessed fuel ADS: Multi-cycle approach for higher thorium utilization and TRU transmutation

•Multi-cycle ADS is designed to achieve higher Th utilization and TRU transmutation.•Thorium fuel contribution to total power is improved significantly.•The TRUs are transmuted in a deeper level.•At discharge, 20% of the radiotoxicity from the TRU waste is removed.•Radiotoxicity reduction calculation result has uncertainty is about 1%.
