Photoelectrocatalytic degradation of the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole using TiO 2 /Ti photoanode

摘要
•TiO2 nanorods can photoelectrocatalytically degrade SMZ quickly and complete.•Adsorption constant of the photoanodes is 3–4 times of those from photocatalysis.•The reaction accelerates with increasing potential and NaCl as well as declining pH.•Molar ratios of HO and Cl show that the effects of pH and Cl− levels are coupled.•The inhibitory effect of humic acid and methanol consists with the view of oxidants.
