摘要
•Pt promoted the decomposition reaction to H2, CH4, CO and carbonate species.•Pt surface enrichment demonstrated by in situ XPS determined product distribution.•The presence of Pt reduced catalyst deactivation.•In situ XAS studies revealed the formation of nickel carbide for over Ni/CeO2.•Pt decreased the formation of nickel carbide and promoted catalyst stability.
