•An end-point specific TTC was established for DART of anticancer compounds.•The TTC for mutagenic impurities (1.5μg/day) is also protective for DART.•Anticancer drugs work through both direct and indirect interaction with tumors.•The hazard of the compound had no meaningful impact on the DART anticancer TTC.
