Disposable copper random microarray sensor using toner masks: Fabrication and application

•In this paper, we show our efforts towards the development of Cu random microarrays using toner masks.•The good evaluation of reproducibility and repeatability of response suggests that can be used for large-scale production.•The fabricated disposable device is characterized by notable versatility, simplicity and low cost.•This device is promising for routine pharmaceutical applications.
