摘要
Introduction. The concept of early extubation in the operating room or within six hours of arrival in the Intensive care unit (ICU) is a new approach in paediatric cardiac surgery [1]. The concept is cost-effective and has a potential to avoid adverse effects of mechanical ventilation. The aim of the study was to evaluate the impact of early extubation on the postoperative course of children undergoing cardiac surgery.
