摘要

•Gold nanostars show catalytic and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) activity.•They can catalyze the reduction of 4-nitrophenol and 4-nitroaniline efficiently.•The different molecular orientations at surface were proved by SERS spectroscopy.
