We have studied the long-term (∼ years) temporal variability of the prototype supersoft X-ray source (SSS) CAL 83 in the Large Magellanic Cloud, using data from the massive compact halo object (MACHO) and Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) projects.
