The effect of the time interval between diagnosis of muscle-invasive bladder cancer and radical cystectomy on staging and survival: A Netherlands Cancer Registry analysis

•A nationwide analysis on the effect of delayed RC on staging and survival.•Median time interval from MIBC diagnosis to RC was 50 days.•Over 90% of patients underwent RC ≤3 months as recommended by the European Association of Urology guidelines.•Delayed RC for>3 months did not increase the upstaging rate.•Delayed RC for>3 months did not decrease survival.
