Modification Of Auger Decay Of Neon Under Strong X-Ray Radiation

In this work we report the modification of the Ne+(1s(1)s(2)2p(6 2)S(1/2)) -> Ne2+(1s(2)2s(2)2p(4 1,3)L(J)) + e Auger decay line due to simultaneous excitation of Ne2+(1s(2)2s(2)2p(4 1)D(2)) ground state to Ne2+(1s(1)2s(2)2p(4)3p(1)F(3)) state. Our theoretical calculations predict that for beam profiles, currently available at Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS), a strong Rabi splitting of the Auger main line shows up for moderate intensities starting from 10(16)W/cm(2) and beyond.
