Mixed ligand complexes of copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) with thiocyanate and pyrazole based tetradentate ligand: Syntheses, characterizations and structures

A new tetradentate N4-coordinate ligand N,N-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methyl-N2-phenylethane-1,2-diamine (bdpab) and six mononuclear mixed ligand complexes have been synthesized and characterized. Crystal structures of four compounds have been solved by single crystal X-ray crystallography studies. Structural analyses reveal copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes have five coordination with distorted square pyramidal [for copper(II)] or trigonal bipyramidal [for zinc(II)] geometry whereas Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes have distorted octahedral geometry.
