摘要

•In-situ hydrophobization of water dispersible LaF3:Ce nanoparticles was achieved.•Oleic acid surface modification of the nanoparticles was verified by IR spectra.•Quantum yields of LaF3:Ce and OA-LaF3:Ce nanoparticles were evaluated.•Quantum yields of LaF3:Ce are strongly dependent on OA surface modification.
