Robust weekly aircraft maintenance routing problem and the extension to the tail assignment problem

•A novel weekly line-of-flights (LOF) network model is developed for the robust weekly aircraft maintenance routing problem.•The weekly LOF network is extended to model the operational tail assignment problem.•The total expected propagated delay cost is minimized.•A two-stage column generation approach is proposed to efficiently solve large-scale LOF network model.
