IL11 is prognostic of survival in lung adenocarcinoma

Mounting evidence suggests that the chronic presence and activation of immune cells exerts a promoting role during cancer development. The inflammatory cytokine IL11 has been linked to tumorigenesis in a variety of solid organ tumors, however, there are no reports of its role in lung cancer. This study assessed the significance of IL11 in lung adenocarcinoma including bronchioloalveolar carcinoma.
