The grammatical formulation of an utterance is one of the most important and complex aspects of human speech activity. Processes of grammatical formulation of an utterance are automatic and involuntary in adults and hence almost completely elude analysis. Therefore, to deal with many of the problems of grammar it is necessary to study the corresponding processes in the course of individual development and the abnormalities that arise in them as a result of local brain lesions accompanied by aphasia.
