摘要

•Ca phosphates can be distinguished with ToF-SIMS using Bi3+ cluster ions and PCA.•Ca/P ratios obtained by EDS and XPS measurements are systematically too low.•XPS measurements prove that there is no decomposition of hydroxyapatite by X-rays.•No surface segregation effect was observed for the investigated Ca phosphates.
