摘要

•Surface stoichiometry of CdSe/CdS quantum dots are controlled with chalcogenide precursors.•Anion (cation) terminated surfaces quench (restore) photoluminescence.•Calculations suggests quenching is due to hole surface states.•Time-resolved photoluminescence also reflects surface composition effects.
