Identification and analysis of anti-HDL scFv-antibodies obtained from phage display based synthetic antibody library

•CAD HDL binding antibodies were isolated from synthetic antibody library.•Several antibodies discriminate between HDL from CAD and healthy subjects.•Majority of the antibodies were lipid dependent apoA-I binders.•The isolated antibodies were immunoreactive with plasma HDL.
