T-Odd Triple Product Asymmetries In Beauty Decays

The decay b --> su (u) over bar receives contributions from both tree and penguin amplitudes. In this talk I show that tree-penguin interference gives rise to a T-violating triple product (s) over right arrow(b).((p) over right arrow(u) x (p) over right arrow(s)) between the b-quark spin and the moments of the s and u quark. In the standard model, the T-violating signal turns out to be rather large, about 6% of the total rate. This is quite encouraging, and suggests that triple products may be useful for testing the standard model and searching for new physics.
