摘要
Titania particles were produced by a combustion synthesis of volatile precursors in a premixed CH4/O2/N2 flame under a Bunsen burner and a flat burner. This investigation is to study the parameter effects on flame temperature, crystalline phase compositions, and synthesis of particle size. The results prove that the key control to crystalline phase changes is oxygen content. The higher concentration of oxygen causes a rise in temperature and increases the chances of collision, which causes an increase the particle size due to the gathering of particles. The more condensed precursor concentration will cause a longer flame height. The major differences between the Bunsen burner (the 12mm internal diameter and 16mm external diameter) and the Flat burner (4.5 cm diameter with a void fraction of 0.4) are the flame length and reaction time in the flame. The formation of anatase crystalline phase is greatly related to the short reaction time.
