Diagnosi precoce di tetano tramite visita odontostomatologica

Objectives. The aim of this paper is to describe the diagnosis and treatment of a patient with tetanus, which was identified as a result of a visit to the dentist.Materials and methods. A female patient went to the dentist because she was experiencing difficulties in removing a mobile prosthesis.Results. The difficulty was found to be due to tetanic trismus. Treatment was followed by full recovery.Conclusions. Early recognition of the clinical manifestations of tetanus is essential to the success of therapy. As in this case, it may involve the efforts of several professionals.
