MRI and PGSE NMR Studies of Long‐range, Pore‐pore Interaction Effects in Gas Adsorption

In this work MRI and PGSE NMR have been used to directly study the advanced condensation effect during water adsorption in a macroscopically heterogeneous sot-gel silica pellet. It has been found that capillary condensation will occur at unexpectedly lower pressures in regions of much larger pores that lie in close proximity to smaller pores.
