The extrapolation of protein three dimensional structures has always been a searing subject for discussions in relevance to the development of modern synthetic foods designated as ‘Nutraceuticals’ as well as ‘drug designing’ and several more. Serviceable characterization of a protein sequence is one of the most recurrent problems in biological sciences. As proteins play a pivotal role in the accomplishment of most of the cellular events, the appropriate protein structures are pretty required in view of elucidation of a putative molecular mechanism of biological functioning. This task is generally expedited by precise three-dimensional (3-D) structure of the studied protein. There have been invariable efforts to approach with a superior computational protein configuration prophecy algorithm. The present review is the compilation of computer-aided analytical and mechanistic niceties of the principal and accepted protein structure prediction servers. Conclusively, this review article may provide new insights into serving as a first hand guide to researchers opting to work in the area of structural bioinformatics.
