Controvérsias no tratamento da otite média aguda - Revisão de literatura

Introduction: Acute otitis media (AOM) is a very prevalent disease in childhood. However, there are still controversies regarding its treatment. This study aimed to evaluate the recent literature published under this topic. Material and methods: Systematic review of papers listed in PubMed, between January 2005 and January 2011 on acute otitis media treatment. Discussion and conclusions: The majority of articles recommend the use of antibiotics in AOM under the observation of stringent criteria.
