Low-sulphidisation epithermal gold-bearing Qiyugou breccia pipes, Xiong’ershan mountains, China

In this paper we report preliminary results obtained from field and petrographic work carried out on the Au-bearing Qiyugou breccia pipes, combined with the available published literatures. We describe the main features, hydrothermal alteration and mineralisation of the breccia pipes, and report the discovery of adularia-calcite assemblage in the area. We propose that the Qiyugou pipes have a low-sulphidation epithermal character and possibly represent a transition from the Leimengou porphyry Mo (Au) system in the area.
