Performance characteristics of diphenyl amine doped PMMA/PVDF blended polymer electrolyte in a nanocrystalline dye-sensitized solar cell

In this work, the effects of incorporation of a new PMMA/PVDF based blended polymer electrolyte with diphenyl amine (DPA) on ion-transport and electrochemical properties of nanocrystalline dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transport number measurements were carried out in order to determine the amorphous nature and movement of ions within the polymer matrix. Furthermore, the current-voltage characteristics of such a nanocrystalline dye-sensitized solar cell measured under simulated sunlight with 1.5 AM at 40 mW/cm(2) have indicated the capability of the cell to exhibit an overall energy conversion efficiency of 9.7%.
