L-lysine promotes the growth and secretion of hybridoma cell line AE9D6

L-Lysine (10 mu g/ml) promotes significant growth of hybridoma cell-AE9D6 for up to 9 weeks although mechanism of action was not evident. Maximum cell density (> 95% viability) of 1 x 10(8) cells/ml from a seeding density of 1 x 10(4) cells/ml was obtained within 36 h. Maximum cumulative monoclonal antibody titre (between 120 h and 240 h) was 2.86 g/l.
