Nano Silver: Environmental Health Effects

There has been a major change in the use of silver over the past 10 years. With the advent of digital imaging, the use of silver in photography has declined significantly. At the same time, the explosion of nanotechnology has brought nanosilver to the marketplace. There are an ever-increasing number of commercial products that incorporate nanosilver as a biological agent. The concern is, however, that the increasing use of a new and powerful antibacterial agent that kills indiscriminately can result in as much harm to the environment as benefit to users.
