摘要

•Birefringence was observed in Cu2ZnSiSe4 single crystals.•Interference spectra of the Fabry–Perot type of Cu2ZnSiSe4 were analyzed.•Isotropic wavelength λ0=622nm (300K) and 605nm (10K) was determined.•The spectral dependence of Δn changes sign with crossing the point λ0.•Absorption coefficient in the fringes varies up to 102–103 times.
